California's Wine Regions

Fall is a special time of year on the California Coast.  The golden, West Coast sun casts its finishing touches on fall bounties from applies to avocados, mission figs to medicinal marijuana, and walnuts to wine grapes. Driving along the California Coast this time of year is a dream.

From the evocative smells of the Napa and Sonoma Valleys during crush, and the alluring Mediterranean ranch style and Burgundy and Rhone varietals of the Santa Ynez Valley, we couldn't help but to have our fall pop up shops incorporate California's wine country into the theme.

I coasted down to Santa Barbara in the early part of October where we celebrated fall by co-hosting an under-the-stars barn dinner at the Santa Barbara Polo Club. Our grilled fare was paired with incredible wine from Melville Winery of the Santa Rita Hills where they produce "Off-the-charts good wines" according to the Wine Advocate. We matched the Chardonnay with toasted pistachios and fresh figs and the Pinot Noir with everything off of the grill. It was the perfect way for us to raise a toast to our first fall sweater collection.

We then drove North to our pop up in the Napa Valley, hosted by RiverHouse by Bespoke Collection. We loved merchandising our new sweaters, ponchos and leather accessories among the equestrian antiques and artwork. Greeting clients with a glass of Blackbird Vineyards rosé was a treat and being surrounded by crushtime while showcasing our fall collection felt very apropos.

When planning your fall, don't forget a trip to visit us in Mill Valley, then a cruise North or South to enjoy the California bounty of the Western US.

xx
